April 2017, Network launch event
We held a Network launch event on Wednesday 5 April at the American Express Community Stadium in Brighton. This was for all stakeholders; people affected by MND, health and social care professionals, NHS commissioners, MND Association volunteers and branch members.
There were 75 people in attendance, from all parts of Sussex. There was a broad mix of health and social care professionals, people affected by MND and staff and volunteers from the MND Association. There was representation from acute and community NHS trusts, hospices, local authority social care providers, universities and clinical commissioning groups.
The main aim of the day was to tell our stakeholders what the Network is and to discuss what we can achieve together. There was certainly plenty of really useful discussion.
Overall it was a very positive and inspiring day which has given us plenty of ideas to work on in the next year. We are already planning next years’ event, so watch this space!
