There are few better ways to get a feel of an institution than to speak to its students. You may not have been able to attend an open day in person or online, but we’ve collated student perspectives from past and present students to give you the inside track on what life at BSMS is truly like.

Whether you want to hear about the best parts of our course, life as an international student or even what life is like after BSMS, the following short videos should tell you everything you need to know!

For prospective students, three of our current students, Ollie Pentz, Nathan Anorson and Joe Langworthy, share their tips and advice for the interview process, which you can read below.

For new BSMS students who have just joined us, Year 2 student Alex Whitworth has shared her advice and tips for you, which you can read via the link below.

MedSoc

The Medical Society (MedSoc) have prepared a walkthrough guide for each year of study at BSMS. These are written by students, for students – what better way to hear about what BSMS has in store than from those who’ve seen and done it all?

Student satisfaction

BSMS is proud of our students, the culture and ethos of the school, and the community that we have created and fostered between students and faculty. We have been fortunate that this has translated into high student satisfaction in recent years. From 2017-2021, student satisfaction was at 95-99% in the National Student Survey (NSS). In 2022, this dropped to 81%, which was indicative of the challenging time for the university sector overall, and particularly for medical students, where every aspect of their training was affected by Covid-19. The overall satisfaction question has been removed for 2023 for England, but BSMS scored above the sector average for all grouped domains (teaching on my course, learning opportunities, assessment and feedback, academic support, learning resources and student voice).
