The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) is a leading African research institute, comprising well-equipped biomedical laboratories, experienced researchers and an extensive network of international and national partners.
Through its research on important endemic diseases, AHRI is committed to building training capacity nationally and regionally. The Institute has a history of health research capacity building through support of postgraduate programmes at Ethiopian Universities, serving as a hub for skill and technology transfer into the country.
The AHRI has a broad basic and translational infectious disease portfolio covering tuberculosis, leprosy, leishmaniasis, meningitis, malaria, HIV/STIs and sepsis. It works with universities, research institutions and health facilities across Ethiopia.
