About this session
Dr John Shenouda is an Anaesthetic Registrar training in Central London. He graduated from Brighton & Sussex Medical School (BSMS) in 2016 with two undergraduate prizes. He was selected to contribute to two books and passed his Master’s degree in Global Health with Distinction, claiming the Best Overall Student Prize.
His early clinical training took place at Cambridge and Imperial during which time he completed his Diploma in medical care of catastrophes and founded an undergraduate revision course for final year medical students. His passion for medical education continued with his role as an Honorary Lecturer at BSMS and completion of a PGCert in Medical Education. He is the resident doctor representative on the RCoA Ethics Committee and a faculty member on national FRCA courses, in addition to being a National Safe Sedation instructor.
During this talk, Anaesthesia, as a specialty, will be briefly explained prior to describing the training pathway and life as an anaesthetic consultant. The pros and cons of a career in anaesthesia and medicine will also be discussed.
