Life After Medical School

About this session

In February’s lecture, Dr Emma Hill and Dr Jordan Watson will be talking about their experiences as doctors in foundation training. They will talk about how postgraduate training works after medical school, what the day-to-day life of a newly qualified doctor looks like, and will share their own highs and lows of navigating the field of medicine to date.

Dr Hill is a foundation year 2 (FY2) doctor who did her undergraduate medical degree at BSMS and a Masters degree in Medical Education at Newcastle University. She is now working in South Yorkshire where she makes the most of the nearby countryside to go exploring on her days off.

Dr Watson is also an FY2 from the same undergraduate medicine cohort at BSMS. He has an intercalated degree in Neuroscience from Imperial College London and is now working on the Isle of Man. In his spare time Jordan enjoys travelling, politics and getting out in nature. He is in the process of moving to Australia.
