About this event
Join Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) for an evening of music, activism and conversation around menstrual health and human rights.
The event will begin at 6:30pm, with short talks from Dr Chi Eziefula (Global Health, BSMS), and Environmenstrual campaigners Wen — followed by an hour-long show from the Ganda Boys at 7pm, and the opportunity for conversation, networking and light refreshments after the performance.
- The Ganda Boys are a UK-based, African fusion band that combine soulful, emotional, African songs and chants with activism, creating music that advocates for social change; their charity foundation has helped lift over 7000 young people out of period poverty
- Dr Chi Eziefula is a Senior Lecturer in BSMS' Global Health and Infection department. Her research interests include: Infectious Diseases, Women’s Global Health; menstrual health; human rights; social justice and environmental sustainability
- Wen is a campaigning charity that acts to achieve equality, justice and joy at the point where gender and environmental issues meet. Their environmenstrual work highlights the need for safety, sustainability, and affordability of all period products.
