About this event
Our first Critical Public Health Seminar of this academic year will take place on 12 October, 12pm UK time.
We are absolutely delighted to welcome Dr. Nosipho Faith Makhakhe, post-doctoral fellow and part-time lecturer in the school of Applied Human Sciences, Department of Health Promotion at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Dr Makhakhe’s PhD research engaged female sex worker peer educators in co-creating a participatory community-based intervention program that aims to respond to the challenges pertaining to the uptake and retention of female sex workers on oral pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention. Her talk for the Critical Public Health group is titled: 'Whatever is in the ARVs is also in the PrEP!': Barriers and facilitators of Pre-exposure prophylaxis use among female sex workers in Durban, South Africa.
Everyone is welcome to join the conversation. You can join the group via Teams on the day via the link below.
