BSMS Virtual Graduation Celebration 2021

Tuesday 13 July 2021, 7pm.

BSMS will host its annual graduation celebration virtually on 13 July 2021. This event page includes information for students, staff, friends and family on how to register or view our live ceremony.

Information for students

Please register for this event via the Zoom registration link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the virtual celebration. Please do not forward this link on to anyone else as it is unique to you.

Next steps

Get creative. You may want to create your own gown and mortar board. Arrange to celebrate with friends (allowing for Covid restrictions).

Send us your photos – we have only had a few sent in so far, so please do send these in so we can create a photo reel to illustrate your time at BSMS – these can be social, sporting, events etc. Please send these to comms@bsms.ac.uk.

Share the link to our YouTube channel with families and loved ones, who will be able to view the event via live streaming on the day.

Social media competition

Get involved in the celebrations and share your excitement on social media. We’re giving you the chance to win a £50 One4allvoucher.  

The rules:

  • Share a photo of yourself on either Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #bsmsforever and tag @bsmsmedschool and @bsmsalumni
  • Must be following @bsmsmedschool and @bsmsalumni
  • You may use the below template if helpful.
  • For an extra entry, share on both platforms! 

Winner will be selected at random on 15 July 2020. Good luck and get posting!

Name pronunciation 

In order to ensure your name is pronounced correctly at the virtual graduation ceremony, students are encouraged to send an audio recording via the form below. This will help us with pronouncing your name correctly during the ceremony. Please note that your recording will not be available to anyone else to access and will be deleted after the event. If you cannot upload a file below, please send your recording to comms@bsms.ac.uk.

The virtual celebration will include many of the elements that help make graduation a really special event:

7.05       Prof Reed to announce the names of all graduating students in groups of 10 

7.20       Congratulations from Prof Juliet Wright, Director of Undergraduate Teaching and Learning 

7.25       Student distinctions, announced by Dr Bethany Davies, Phase 2 Deputy Lead 

7.30       Student prizes, announced by Dr Michael Okorie, Therapeutics Lead 

7.35       Top Teacher Awards, announced by Dr Andreas Hiersche, Phase 3 Lead 

7.40       Class of 2021 Speech by Heather White, Emily Catling and Rebecca Clementi

7.48       Welcome to the NHS Speech, Dr Rob Galloway, Emergency Medicine Lead

7.55       Please all join us in reciting the Hippocratic Oath
