About the event
Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), the University of Sussex and Personal Social Services Research Unit (PSSRU) at the University of Kent are collaborating on MiCare HQ, a three-year project to measure and improve care home quality.
The project aims to: develop and test new measures of pain, anxiety and low mood to be used with care home residents who may be unable to directly communicate their quality of life; assess how far the regulator’s (CQC) quality rating of care homes reflect residents’ quality of life; and assess how much staffing conditions matter for care home quality.
We will be presenting and discussing some early results and welcome input and advice from colleagues interested in health and social care.
The project's research team includes Prof Jackie Cassell (PI), Ann Marie Towers, Nick Smith, Florin Vadean, Stephen Allan, Madeline Naick, Grace Collins, Stefania Lanza, Lisa Chen, Julien Forder, Jennifer Bostock, Helen Ramsbottom, and Raffaella Tate.
