Science and the media
Doctor and TV presenter Chris van Tulleken’s work straddles both disciplines. But what challenges does this present? And how can we accurately represent science in a world of constant social media updates and fake news? Chris takes on a fascinating subject with his usual wit, insight and warmth.
Chris is best known for working with his twin brother on shows including Operation Ouch, Horizon and The Secret Life of Twins. Chris trained in medicine at Oxford and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians. He has a diploma in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and has spent more than a decade working in the NHS. He is now completing a PhD in Molecular Virology at University College London.
Chris’s lecture will take place at 6.30pm in the Chowen Lecture Theatre at the Medical School Teaching Building.
Tickets for the public lecture are free.
