Overview of responsibilites: Wendy works in the Quality and Placements Team, helping help to support BSMS colleagues, NHS Trusts and others in providing undergraduate student placements for BSMS Medical students. Her responsibilities relate primarily to student data, funding and finance.

Areas of expertise: 

  • Undergraduate Medical Tariff (UMT) budgets and finance – for primary care (GP) and secondary care
  • NHSE Tariff funding for UG medical education - Trusts, voluntary organisations and GP practices
  • UG student placement data and the NHSE student data e-collection
  • External placements contracts, Collaboration Agreements etc
  • Integrated Jobs Plans (IJPs)
  • Staff Masterfile - clinical academic roles funded by UMT.

Biography

Before joining BSMS Wendy took some time away from working to study for a Masters in Museum Studies and do voluntary work in museums and the local community. Prior to that she was Head of Recruitment, Outreach and Widening Participation at the University of Brighton for six years.  Wendy has worked in higher education in for almost 30 years at a number of universities in the north and south of England, undertaking various roles in admissions, student recruitment and widening participation. She has also been a Director of Access to HE and Quality at an awarding body and managed an AimHigher Partnership in London.
