Biography
Rachel is a Neuroscience graduate, gaining her BSc from University College London. During her studies she was selected to partake in UCL and Peking University's Summer School in Experimental Design in Psychology. In her final year of university, she completed two research projects. The first, on the cellular signalling pathway, mTOR, as a therapeutic target for Alzheimer's Disease with epileptiform activity. The second investigated DNA repair, more specifically, genes within the mismatch repair pathway as therapeutic targets in Huntington's Disease. Following her degree, she worked in neurorehabilitation at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Here she provided therapy support to chronic stroke patients within Queen Square's Upper Limb programme. Rachel has recently joined SHORE-C in April 2024 and will be assisting the team with ongoing projects.
