Biography

Kathryn is experienced in behaviour and change management. With a background in primary education, employability, quality management and public health engagement, Kathryn graduated from the University of Liverpool with a Geography degree in 1996. With a strong track record in using innovative methods to improve practise and learning in private, public and third sector organisations, she has developed audit skills in Matrix and ISO quality certification.

Research

Kathryn started working in BSMS as a Research Assistant on the ARC Unlocking Data project in February 2021. She is currently organising focus groups for the public participation section of the research. Data management and people skills have combined to generate interest in participation. 

Health Engagement: Kathryn has carried out research on behaviour change in communities across East Sussex. Worked with Clinical Commissioning Groups in East Sussex to improve health outcomes on physical activity. Facilitated community networking to support gamification of physical activity levels in disadvantaged communities. 

E-Learning and Training: She has managed quality in e-learning provision for health and pharmaceutical companies and she has also supported development of relationships across the NHS in the South East for National Numeracy. Implementing roll-out of the campaigns to strengthen numeracy confidence in NHS work settings. 

 

Teaching

Kathryn has developed training courses on behaviour change in welfare to work settings. She was implementing ESF contracts and employability programmes. She has authored training programmes for adults facing redundancy and has ran engagement programmes for employers across Sussex, Surrey and Kent. Whilst carrying out audits she was overseeing quality and performance management in partnership with Job Centre Plus.

Kathryn gained a Primary Teaching qualification from the University of Brighton.
