Damla is a PhD student at the Primary Care and Public Health department at BSMS. Her current work combines this sociological lens with a view towards combatting health inequalities in primary care and other healthcare services.

Research

Damla’s current work aims to investigate the interrelations between vulnerable young people’s substance use, sexual health and mental health in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Through a co-productive lens, this project will aim to increase engagement with existing services and improve vulnerable young people’s mental and sexual health outcomes in the South East of England.

Teaching

Damla is available to supervise undergraduate dissertations as well as individual research projects for medical students centred around the following areas: public health, primary care, vulnerable populations, mental & sexual health, substance use and health inequalities.
