Biography

Alice is a PhD researcher in the primary care and public health department at BSMS. She completed her undergraduate Psychology (BSc Hons) degree at Cardiff University, during which time she undertook a year long placement as a research intern at Mannheim University. Following this, Alice completed an MRes in Psychology at the University of Manchester where her dissertation focused on how primary schools supported pupil mental health.

Research

Alice’s current work focuses on access to evidence-based psychological therapies for common mental health problems in England. Her PhD focuses on co-producing research investigating the barriers and facilitators to accessing support for perinatal obsessive-compulsive disorder from the perspectives of parents and healthcare professionals.

Her supervisors are Dr Elizabeth Ford, Dr Clio Berry and Dr Clara Strauss.

Alice’s research interests include; mental health, perinatal mental health, wellbeing, primary care, service development and delivery, co-production, qualitative design and intersectionality.

Teaching

Alice has previously taught for the Advanced Research Methods in Clinical Psychology at the University of Sussex as part of the Global Mental Health lecture series. She has also taught on the Individuals & Groups and Social Psychology modules at the University of Sussex, and had co-supervised BSMS students individual research projects. She is available to supervise undergraduate dissertations and individual research projects for medical students.
