About this session

There are many barriers that can affect different groups of people when applying to, and getting through medical school. Mental health is a topic of particular relevance in the current medical student cohort, and barriers related to mental health can be significant and wide reaching.

In January's lecture, Dr Isobel Walker will explore some of the implications presented by mental health at medical school through personal experience, and share lessons learnt to break the barriers and reach the end goal of becoming a doctor.

Dr Walker is a Foundation Year 1 doctor, having studied Medicine at the University of Nottingham. Whilst at university she worked alongside their Outreach Team to help widen access to medicine. She is also a keen artist, having rediscovered this passion during the Covid lockdowns.

If you have any questions about this event, or the Monthly Lecture Series, please email the Outreach Team via outreach@bsms.ac.uk

Please note, we do not provide certificates of attendance for any of our online talks or lectures in the Monthly Lecture Series.
