Global Health- Malawi

BSMS is to deliver a new postgraduate degree in Global Health due to start in September 2010, subject to validation by our partner universities.

The MSc Global Health will combine the expertise of those throughout both universities.  It will focus on the the foundations of global health, which will include the study of global healthcare systems and policy; global disease burden; health, poverty and development; the global politics of disease; climate change and health and medical anthropology. Students will supplement this study with additional relevant modules chosen from those already on offer within the universities.

Course leader Sarah Lou Bailey, said:

"Improved health and the achievement of equity in health for all people in developing countries and the wider world demands the collaboration of many disciplines. The study of global health encourages a multi-disciplinary approach to engage with, understand and critically appraise the diverse causes of and solutions to health globally. This course is invaluable for those involved with global health research, policy and practice from all countries".
